Celiac expos and events are popping up all over our nation. I want to highlight one that is happening in May of 2012 in Hauppauge, NY. It is organized by the Suffolk County Celiacs, which is a branch of the Gluten Intolerance Group.
What: 2012 Suffolk County Celiac Fundrasier and Vendor Fair
Where: International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 25, 370 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, NY 11788
When: May 5th & 6th, 11am- 3pm
You can visit their website here for more information, however there is not too much on there about this year’s event. That’s okay, because judging from the past few years shows, it looks like a great gluten-free event!
Last year they had over 1500 visitors and 60 gluten-free vendors. You will be able to shop and browse each vendor and try all sorts of gluten-free goodies. In years past they had presentation seminars with guest speakers from experts in the celiac field.
This event also serves as a fundraiser and all proceeds go towards celiac research. If you live in the area, you will not want to miss this event. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a day out without having to worry if you will accidentally ingest any gluten. Meet new friends and learn new information, but most of all, have fun!
