Blogger of the Week: Janice from A Healthful Gluten Free Life

Good afternoon, readers!  I am so excited to introduce to you our “Blogger of the Week!”  Please give a warm welcome to Janice, a talented writer and owner of two blog sites.   Before I tell you about them, let me tell you a little about Janice and how she came to start writing about gluten free living.

Janice discovered she not only had a gluten allergy but she also has a corn intolerance.  She stated, “At the time, most gluten-free products contained corn as well, which was even more upsetting!”  To top it off, she recently discovered she is allergic to peanuts.  That did not stop her from finding ways to eat healthily.  Some people may throw in the towel and either eat whatever they want consequences be damned, or just think they can never have fun with their food again.  Yes, she has found accommodating her diet to suit her needs challenging, but she also knows that it is so important to give her body all the nutrients it needs.  She has done this successfully while still enjoying the food she loves.

That brings me to her the first blog site she created called A Healthful Gluten Free Life.  This site is dedicated to easy-to-make gluten free foods and easy to find resources to help people live gluten-free as stress free as possible.  Not only will you find Janice’s favorite recipes, gluten-free links and anecdotes, you will find a shop where you can purchase copies of her favorite cookbooks.  Not only does she recommend these cookbooks, she has also written her own cookbook entitled Sweets and Treats: a Gluten Free Guide to the Holidays.  This is a must-have book for entertaining year round.  All of the recipes featured in this book avoid many common allergens such as gluten, peanuts, eggs and dairy.  The book is available in a paperback format or you can download a copy immediately.

Janice has a new blogsite she is most excited about called LODALITE.    The title of this site was inspired by the actual stone, the lodalite; its meaning is “closely related to the manifestation of one’s desires.”  What a beautiful sentiment!   It’s also a very fitting title for what this site represents for Janice; beauty, fashion, lifestyle and exploring her passions in life.  Here she allows her creative side shine through with her writing, photography and ideas.  It is still in its infancy, but it promises to be a lot of fun.

I hope you will add both of Lisa’s sites to your favorites list (or bookmark it for you Macbook users!)  We have enjoyed getting to know her and look forward to all she has to offer through her blogs.
